A PUZZLE

I've listened to TVs
And watched telephones
Slept in the graveyard
When no one was home

I've been a stranger
To them and to me
And twisted and turned
The birds and the bees

And these things that I've done
I win and I lose
But I'm still a puzzle
Looking for clues

Don’t mind me I am just
Paying dues
For I’m still a puzzle
Looking for more clues

I've fell into poison
And climbed my way out
And bested the doctors
Who always had doubts

I’m living my days
In various ways
And how long I got
I couldn’t say

And these things that I've done
I win and I lose
But I'm still a puzzle
Looking for clues

Don’t mind me I am just
Paying dues
For I’m still a puzzle
Looking for more clues

There's the street name I know
It reminds me of where I used to go
All the faces I see
It reminds me of who I used to be

This life is not a straight shot
Can't see the corners til you're taught
Stuck on these things that you've done wrong
Can't see the value til it's gone

And these things that I've done
I win and I lose
But I'm still a puzzle
Looking for clues

Don’t mind me I am just
Paying dues
For I’m still a puzzle
Looking for more clues
